All your backup and restore tasks can be completed with one application, one set of job control statements, one set of backup tapes, and one job to execute.
Environment
MAXBACK/VSE runs on VSE/SP or VSE/ESA, in its own sublibrary of 1,500 blocks (seven cylinders of 3380 disk space). Call or Write.
Install and Customize
- MAXBACK/VSE comes on tape in standard MSHP backup format.
- Load MAXBACK/VSE into an empty sublibrary.
- With the JCL provided, load the MAXBACK/VSE messages into the VSE/ESA online help facility.
- Assemble and link-edit the customization table.
The customization table provides a standard operating environment. Permanent changes can be made by editing the table. Temporary changes can be made with the modifiers in individual command statements.
You can write and save sets of MAXBACK/VSE parameters to fit specific situations, then call them up in individual MAXBACK/VSE jobs.
