In VM/GCS, Vital Signs VisionNet requires:
VTAM 3.4.1 or greater
30 cylinders of 3380 disk space, or its equivalent in minidisk space
At least 82 cylinders of 3380 disk space, or its equivalent in minidisk space, for the VSAM catalog, the Vital Signs database, and collection, recall, and index files
At least 1 cylinder of 3380 disk space, or its equivalent in minidisk space, for each of up to two SMF collection files
To interface with NetView, NetView 1.3 or greater
327x or compatible terminals
IBM VSAM access method
For NCP session and gateway monitoring, NCP 4.3 or greater
For dynamic reconfiguration, NCP 4.3.1 or greater
To monitor token rings or network packet switching, NCP 5.3.1 or greater
To monitor the NCP connectivity subsystem processor (CSS), NCP 7.4 or greater
To monitor terminal controllers, 3x74-type controllers with IBM's RTM feature
To monitor 3270 controllers, install Vital Signs on the VTAM system that owns the terminals
To monitor networks and test terminal response, install Vital Signs on any system that can access those resources through the SNA network
In Multiple Hosts
To monitor multiple hosts, operating systems, domains, and NCPs, Install Vital Signs Online and the VTAM Agent on the VTAM that owns the terminals or network. Install NCP and VTAM agents on the controllers and other hosts.
