MINNEAPOLIS, MN – August 12, 2018 – Software Diversified Services™ (SDS), a global leader in mainframe software, announces the availability of FIM+ for z/OS, a revolutionary file integrity monitoring (FIM) solution for the IBM mainframe. FIM+ verifies data integrity with continuous monitoring and on-demand auditing, then integrates with existing SIEM tools for real-time reporting and alerts. FIM+ adds a critical layer of protection against advanced security breaches and can provide immediate, conclusive evidence that the mainframe environment is intact.
FIM+ is an excellent solution for today’s rigorous data security standards, including PCI DSS Requirement 11.5 for continuous monitoring and the data protections of HIPAA, FISMA, GDPR, and others. FIM+ then exceeds these standards by examining full application suites and providing on-demand audits.
A baseline version of each file and application is generated, encrypted, and stored securely in a vault. Each component is then compared to its trusted version, directly verifying data integrity or identifying discrepancies that may mean a security issue. Even changes made by privileged users are detected.
Auditors and managers can decide which mainframe files to scan and when. FIM+ can be scheduled to frequently conduct a low-overhead quick scan to find and log any changes to system status. If a discrepancy is found, FIM+ will automatically trigger a full scan to examine components bit by bit and pinpoint the location of any problems. An alert can be automatically sent to the security team or to the enterprise SIEM. Over time, an audit trail is created to show a history of continuous file integrity and prove compliance. FIM+ provides immediate system intelligence as well as long-range analysis to give auditors the answers they need about data integrity, exposure, and compliance.

The Missing Link in DevOps – How Lack of Post-Deployment Verification Can Cause Serious Errors
Tuesday, August 14, 2018, 4:30PM – 5:30PM
Room: 242, Session 23026
Security advisor Allen Saurette from MainTegrity will discuss how mainframe file integrity monitoring can be used to validate data and files. An on-demand or scheduled audit process that confirms what was deployed matches the desired state can ensure all components arrive as planned, identify accidental errors, and detect changes that may mean a security breach.
File Integrity Monitoring (FIM) Security for Z: Closing ESM and SIEM Holes
Wednesday, August 15, 2018, 1:45PM – 2:45PM
Room: 104, Session 23051
Mainframe FIM can identify external or internal malicious activity, reduce incident response time to mitigate damage, and detect intruders before they can cause mayhem. Allen Saurette from MainTegrity will introduce FIM+ for z/OS, a real-time enterprise solution that detects advanced mainframe threats, validates file integrity on demand, and helps prove compliance to security standards.
