While the ubiquitous nature of FTP makes it the data transfer application
of choice for many sites, there are significant risks and issues.
These include authentication, encryption, data security,
regulatory compliance, auditing, automation, nonrepudiation,
control, and monitoring. This session will look at these challenges.
We will start with a brief description and history,
delve into some the issues, and finally we'll present some solutions,
including recent enhancements made in z/OS.
