Spring Lake Park, Minnesota, USA - 7 August 2011 - PGP® data encryption, a widely accepted standard in industry and government, is now available for IBM z/OS systems through Software Diversified Services.

PGP Command Line 9 for IBM Mainframes easily integrates into existing mainframe processes and provides compression and encryption for data at rest, in transmission, and in archival backups--thus helping enterprises achieve compliance with regulatory and business-partner standards.

Implementing PGP for data security on z/OS mainframes provides the confidence of employing an integrated security system across multiple platforms: IBM z/OS, iSeries, and AIX; Sun Solaris; and Unix, Linux, Windows, and Macintosh machines.

PGP also reduces demands on infrastructure by significantly compressing data volumes.

PGP Command Line is built on the OpenPGP standard described in RFC 2440, a public encryption standard that has undergone more than a decade of intense review by the world's best cryptographers. It meets the U.S. Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) and is one of two standards recommended for e-mail security by the U.S. National Institute of Standard and Technology (NIST).

Software Diversified Services provides sales and technical support for PGP Command Line for IBM Mainframes in agreement with Townsend Security, Olympia, WA. Townsend came to SDS for its expertise in z/OS monitoring and security tools. PGP® products were developed by PGP Corp., now owned by Symantec Corp., Mountain View, CA.
